Prayagraj, February 24: Famous Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif was in the spotlight at the ongoing Mahakumbh on Monday while she visited the Parmarth Niketan to seek spiritual blessings.

“Katrina Kaif experienced a spiritual journey at the Maha Kumbh. She met Swami Chidananda Saraswati Ji and Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati Ji at the Parmarth Niketan camp,” said the Uttar Pradesh Information Department in a media statement.

On this occasion, she was presented with a statue of Lord Shiva and a Rudraksha plant, added the UP government. “Swami Chidananda Saraswati Ji said that when stars from popular industries like Bollywood come to the Maha Kumbh, it serves to connect the youth with religion and culture,” added the media statement.

The spiritual guru was further quoted, saying: “It gives the message that spirituality is not limited to only sadhus and saints, but can be an integral part of life”. Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati said, “The younger generation should understand that spirituality is not just for the elderly or sadhus and saints.”

“When international celebrities like Katrina Kaif come to the Maha Kumbh, it inspires our youth to connect with their culture and roots,” she added.

It also stated that “a wonderful confluence of Bollywood and spirituality is being seen in Maha Kumbh 2025, the biggest event of Indian culture”. “While the veteran actor of the film industry Akshay Kumar took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam on Monday and got a spiritual experience, actress Katrina Kaif also reached the ashram of Swami Chidanand Saraswati and got a pleasant experience of the holy festival of Sanatan culture,” added the UP government.

It also stated that the “presence of Bollywood stars in Maha Kumbh shows that no matter what profession you are in, spiritual peace and balance is extremely important”.

Earlier, Vicky Kaushal had visited Mahakumbh before the release of his film Chhava. His film portrays the life of Shabhaji Maharaj, son of Shivaji, who laid the foundation of the Maratha empire in the heydays of the Mughal Rule.
