Robust Arrangements, Cultural Welcome for Pilgrims
The LG praised the elaborate arrangements made by the administration, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, J&K Police, and security forces to ensure a safe and seamless pilgrimage. Prominent spiritual leaders, public representatives, and senior officers were also present at the flag-off ceremony.
Adding to the spiritual and cultural spirit of the Yatra, the Directorate of Rural Sanitation organized a traditional welcome ceremony at the Nunwan and Baltal base camps. Devotees were greeted with garlands, while girls in traditional Kashmiri attire and sanitation volunteers created a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
Anoo Malhotra, Director General of Rural Sanitation, stated, “Welcoming the devotees with respect and care marks the beginning of our service to them. Cleanliness and hospitality go hand in hand during this spiritual journey.”
To ensure high standards of hygiene and sanitation, the department has deployed dedicated sanitation teams, installed QR-coded toilets, and placed bailing and shredding machines for eco-friendly waste management.
Book on Shiva Tatva Unveiled
In a separate event, Sinha also released a book titled “Shiva Tatva Amarnath”, published by Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust. Congratulating the authors and trust members, the LG praised the work for offering a unique presentation of faith, devotion, and Vedic traditions related to the Amarnath Yatra.
