‘Israel is at war’; Gaza Strip now battlefield after Hamas attacks

New Delhi, October 7: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that his country is now in a state of war. His remarks came after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel.

Hamas in a statement sad that the priority of the operation is to protect Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. “The operation is to stop the plans of the Zionist occupation that aim to Judaize them and to crush all plans of the Zionist regime to build their alleged Third Temple of Solomon on the ruins of the first Mosque for Muslimsm Al Aqsa or near it,” stated the statement issued by Hamas.

Israel has launched ‘Operation Iron Swords, while the footages have come out of the tower of the Palestinians brought down in a counter-offensive. The Hamas has killed a few of the Israeli personnel, as well as having taken hostage of an old woman of Israel who was being paraded in the Gaza strip. The Hamas attacks have been joined by the Palestinians who sneaked through the breaches of the Gaza wall, reports stated.

Netanyahu vowed that the “enemy will receive a response they have never known before”. The local reports also stated that the Hamas militants have entered the Israeli cities of Ashkelon and Sderot, as they patrol the areas now. The reports also added that the Palestinians have captured the city of Sderot, which is close to Gaza. Over 2000 rockets were fired by the Hamas militants on Saturday morning to launch their operations, reports also stated. Hezbollah has also said that the group is in contact with the Hamas leadership.

The reports also stated that the civilians and children have been taken hostage by the Hamas militants in Gaza. The experts have claimed that the attack is part of the effort of Hamas to stop the Arab world from normalizing their relations with Israel. Reports also stated that the Hamas operatives were celebrating with corpses of two dead Israeli security persons in Gaza. Israeli media stated that after firing 2000 rockets across Israel the militants were firing at the people who were going for Shabbat prayers.
