Iran Vows to Pursue Nuclear program ‘Built on Blood of Nuclear Martyrs’

By TRH News Desk

NEW DELHI, June 22, 2025 — Iran accused the United States and Israel of launching coordinated attacks on its nuclear facilities in a move Tehran condemned as a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

In a strongly worded statement, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said its nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan came under “savage aggression” early Sunday morning, following a series of what it called “brutal attacks by the Zionist enemy.”

The AEOI claimed the strikes were “in violation of international laws, particularly the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT),” and alleged that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) showed “indifference—and even complicity” in the face of the attacks, despite the facilities being under continuous IAEA monitoring.

Iran further charged that the United States, “through virtual space and by the declaration of its president,” had taken responsibility for the attacks. The statement added that Iran would pursue legal action and vowed that its nuclear program—“built on the blood of nuclear martyrs”—would not be derailed by foreign hostility.

“Iran will not allow the development of its national nuclear industry to be halted,” the AEOI said, reaffirming its commitment to defend the country’s nuclear achievements with the support of “thousands of revolutionary and motivated scientists and experts.”

In a separate statement, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the US, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, of committing a “grave violation of the UN Charter, international law, and the NPT” by targeting peaceful nuclear installations.

“The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences,” Araghchi said, calling on UN members to condemn the “dangerous, lawless and criminal behaviour.” He warned that Iran reserves all options under the UN Charter to respond in self-defence.

Iran maintained that its nuclear program is exclusively for peaceful purposes, a claim contested by Western powers and regional rivals. The latest developments could now further complicate global diplomatic efforts aimed at nuclear de-escalation in the region.

Israel-based media outlets claimed while quoting unnamed officials that “all three Iranian nuclear facilities have been fully destroyed.” However, Iran observers claimed that the nuclear stockpiles could have been shifted to safe hideouts, as three sites had been obvious targets. No nuclear radiations from three targeted facilities in Iran have yet been reported, said local media outlets.
