New Delhi, August 23: “India, I’ve reached my destination and you too,” beamed Chandrayaan-3 after soft-landing on Moon at 6.04 PM India time, creating a history for the country at a time when the country is seeking a pivotal position in the global order.
Exhibiting perfection, Indian soft-landed Chandrayaan-3 on Moon. India became the first country to land the space mission in the south pole of Moon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the successful Indian Moon mission is dedicated to the global humanity.
India on Wednesday became the fourth country to land a mission on Moon. P. Veeramuthuvel, the project director of the mission of the ISRO, said: “India has become the fourth country to demonstrate the soft-landing process. India has also become the first country to land a mission on the south pole of Moon.”
The successful mission became special also for the reason that the Russian bid to land a module on Moon just crashed a few days ago. India’s Vikram lander also had crash-landed as part of the Chandrayaan-2 mission.
“India’s successful moon mission is not just of the country, but of the entire humanity across the world, as part of the one earth, one family, one future principle,” said Modi, while addressing the scientists through video-conference from Johannesburg. Modi said that India will share the success of the mission with other countries.
Earlier, while addressing the BRICS Leaders’ Summit, Modi had urged upon the member nations to collaborate on space exploration, while seeking a closer cooperation in diverse areas among the group constituents.
The Chandrayaan-3 mission was globally watched out for India to take the big scientific stride. The mission found a special mention in the address of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who in his remarks at the BRICS Summit said that the global community is looking forward for the successful landing of the mission on Moon. The global media also hailed the Indian mission.
Modi in his remarks said that Indian mission to explore space will gain momentum as key initiatives will be rolled out in the near future. India will soon be sending the Gaganyaan mission, while another mission to study sun is also in the pipeline.
