India, Fiji Seal 17 Key Outcomes During PM Rabuka’s Visit

From healthcare and education to defense, agriculture, migration, and cultural exchanges, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s India visit deepens the “Veilomani Dosti” partnership with new MoUs, joint initiatives, and strategic cooperation.

NEW DELHI, August 25, 2025 — India and Fiji announced 17 major outcomes during the visit of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka to New Delhi, underscoring the growing strategic, economic, and cultural partnership between the two countries.

In the health sector, India will support the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of a super-specialty hospital in Fiji, and supply medicines under the Janaushadhi scheme through HLL Lifecare Limited. Cooperation in standardization, digital skilling, and capacity building was also formalized through MoUs between Indian and Fijian institutions.

India committed to grant assistance for Quick Impact Projects, while a Declaration of Intent on Migration and Mobility was signed to facilitate movement of professionals and students. The Fijian side also handed over the lease deed for the Indian Chancery Building in Suva.

The two nations also issued a joint statement affirming their partnership “in the spirit of Veilomani Dosti” — a phrase symbolizing friendship and cooperation.
