Sunita Kejriwal reads out message of Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi, March 23: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that he would soon come out of the custody of the investigative agency. In a message for the people, read out by his wife Sunita Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister has said that no power can hold him behind the bar for long.

“I was arrested yesterday. Whether I am behind the bar or outside, I will serve the nation each moment. My life is a struggle. I am not surprised with my arrest,” Kejriwal said in his message, which was read out by his wife in a video post shared by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

The Enforcement Directorate had arrested Kejriwal after a brief spell of questioning at his residence. A Delhi court granted six days of custody of Kejriwal to the ED. “I am made of iron. There is no jail which can keep me for long. I will soon come out,” said the Delhi CM in the message.

Kejriwal also appealed to the people to visit temples and seek blessings for him. “I request the people to visit temples and pray for me. I will soon come out. There are forces outside and within the country which are seeking to weaken the nation. We have to fight against such forces,” said Kejriwal.

The Delhi CM also assured that the women in the city should not worry about the scheme under which they get Rs 1000 a month. “I wish to assure our mothers and sisters that the scheme will continue to function. The AAP workers should also remain focussed in carrying out social works,” added Kejriwal in the message for the people.

Kejriwal, who is facing the ED probe in the alleged liquor scam, also urged the AAP workers to “not hate the BJP workers as they too are brothers and sisters”. The ED has alleged that Kejriwal is the kingpin of the liquor scam.

Kejriwal’s arrest follows the ED arrest in the past of his colleagues Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Satender Jain. Senior lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi had argued in the lower court that Kejriwal was being framed by the ED as a part of the vendetta politics.
