Hrithik Roshan Rides ‘Krrish’ Luck to Go Behind Camera

New Delhi, March 29: Popular film star Hrithik Roshan will be transiting to the role of a director. He will direct ‘Krrish 4’. His father, Rakesh Rishan, hopes for a new perspective in the science fiction series on the silver screen.
Hrithik Roshan was an assistant director to his illustrious father Rakesh Roshan. On nudge of film star Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan bared his chest to reveal six pecks on the silver screen.
‘Kaho Na Pyar Hai’, directed by his father, launched Hrithik Roshan into a successful acting career. His hand sideways thumping dance steps sent young girls screaming in film theatres. He never looked back.
Debonair actor acted in several hit films. Hrithik Roshan established himself as an aspirational romance king for girls in colleges.
After over two decades, he is now returning behind the camera. But he will also be at the front of the camera. Raj Kapur, Dev Anand, Feroz Khan, and many others have worn the dual hats, acting and directing the film at the same time.
‘Krrish 4’ will be another instalment in India’s beloved superhero franchise. This blending of science fiction and romance is an Indian encore of the Avenger series in the US and their many avatars in China.
The ‘Krrish’ series began with ‘Koi… Mil Gaya’ in 2003. Rakesh Roshan hit the goldmine with the film as it appealed to the new age cinema lovers.
Blending science fiction with compelling storytelling, ‘Krrish’ series has Hrithik Roshan as central to the franchise’s success, portraying the titular character across all films. His decision to direct ‘Krrish 4’ follows years of involvement in the series and a longstanding interest in filmmaking.
In media interviews, Roshan has been quoted saying: “Being a superhero is like playing any one of us because we all have it inside us. It has been a great journey for me, and I learned a lot by playing the character.”
NDTV in a report said that the production of ‘Krrish 4’ will be a collaborative effort between Yash Raj Films (YRF) and Rakesh Roshan’s production house. Rakesh Roshan is confident of his son’s directorial capabilities.
The father of the superhero spotlighted son’s extensive experience in the industry and deep understanding of the ‘Krrish’ universe. Senior Roshan hoped that Hrithik will “bring a fresh perspective to the franchise”.
The announcement has garnered enthusiastic reactions from the film fraternity. Actress Priyanka Chopra, who played Priya Mehra in previous ‘Krrish’ films, responded with heartfelt emojis on social media. It is immediately not known if she will return to the science fiction series.
