Brokers at the stock exchanges also complained of their terminals not working with Window of the Microsoft showing blue screens. Reports said that airports in India are also facing massive challenges because of the blue screens.
“Widespread Microsoft outages have sent IT systems across Australia into a tailspin this afternoon, with banks, airlines, police, and other systems reported as being affected,” reported 10 News First in a post on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
With Microsoft not giving a full account of the technical problems, the users are speculating of major cyberattacks on the Window. “We don’t yet to know what the problem is, and there could also be a possibility of a major cyberattack,” an Indian television reporter said on air.
Incidentally, the Asian stock markets were down in the day with deep cuts. While it was not stated if the exchanges were trading with losses because of the Window outage, analysts blamed the losses to the Third Plenum of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) failing to boost the confidence of the investors.
On a lighter note, the US-based television anchor Diana Gutiérrez said: “And y’all thought the news cycle was over with the RNC…”. She was making a reference to the Republican National Convention (RNC).
The global media had been busy reporting the concluding session of the four-day-long RNC, which concluded with the acceptance speech of former president Donald Trump.
Incidentally, the media organisations are also facing major challenges with the Window outage. They are not able to broadcast the news bulletins, as well as post news articles.
