By TRH News Desk

New Delhi, April 6: Vibrant processions, devotional chants, and spiritual fervour marked celebrations of Ram Navami. Faithfuls thronged temples across cities, including Ayodhya.

Devout thronged temples to celebrate ram Navami, the birth of Lord Ram, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The festival, which falls on the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri, drew millions to temples.

The atmosphere was electric in Ayodhya. ‘Surya Tilak’ of Ram Lulla was broadcast by the Ram Temple authority.

Thousands of devotees gathered at the newly inaugurated Ram Mandir, witnessing special aartis, recitations of the Ramcharitmanas, and elaborate rituals.

The temple complex was adorned with flowers, diyas, and saffron flags, as bhajans echoed throughout the holy city. A massive Shobha Yatra (religious procession) featuring tableaux of Ram’s life drew pilgrims from all over the country.

Elsewhere, in cities like Varanasi, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, and Bengaluru, temples organized day-long celebrations including havans, prasad distribution, and cultural programs.

Children dressed as Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman participated in stage plays and local Ramlilas, bringing mythology to life for a new generation.

A wave of faith swelled in the temples and shrines in Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Chaitra Navratri and Ram Navami. “Devotees visited temples in all 75 districts of the state including Vindhyavasini Devi Dham Mirzapur, Devipatan Temple Balrampur, Shakumbhari Devi Temple Saharanpur, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Dham Varanasi, Budhiya Mata of Gorakhpur, Tarkulha Devi, Alopi Devi Temple of Prayagraj,” said Uttar Pradesh government in a media statement.

In urban centers, the festival took on a modern flavor with digital screenings of Ramayan episodes, virtual satsangs, and online pujas for devotees unable to visit temples.

Social media platforms were flooded with greetings, quotes, and devotional songs, blending tradition with technology.

Security was heightened in major cities to ensure peaceful celebrations, especially in regions expecting large gatherings. Authorities deployed additional personnel at sensitive sites and monitored key locations via drones and CCTV surveillance.

Beyond religion, Ram Navami served as a celebration of cultural identity, resilience, and ethical values. Religious leaders emphasized Lord Ram’s ideals of truth, duty, and justice, encouraging citizens to uphold these virtues in their daily lives.

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to the nation, highlighting Lord Ram’s universal relevance. “May the values of Maryada Purushottam Ram inspire harmony and righteousness in our society,” Modi said in his message.

Chants of “Jai Shri Ram” filled the air. Saffron flags fluttered across cities. Ram Navami was celebrated as a national heritage.
