New Delhi, January 20: The Rajya Sabha MP of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Swati Maliwal is in the midst of a blistering electioneering for the Delhi Assembly elections. Maliwal on Monday gave a Ramayana lesson to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
“It was Marichi and not Ravana who had transformed into a golden deer. It was Lord Ram and not Luxman who was asked by Sita for a golden deer,” Maliwal corrected Kejriwal’s speech, while taking a video clip on the social media platforms.
From being a staunch supporter of Kejriwal, Maliwal has made a complete transformation in the last one year. From alleging Kejriwal’s key aide, Bibhav Kumar, of assaulting her at the residence of the chief minister, Maliwal is now touring all parts of the national capital as a part of an anti-AAP campaigning.

Maliwal had made a distinct identity for herself as the President of Delhi Women’s Commission (DWC). She hogged limelight for her aggressive stance on women’s issues while helming the DCW.
The AAP insiders state that Maliwal’s anti-party campaigning is adding to the woes of the Kejriwal-led outfit. With Maliwal opening a front against the AAP, the Kejriwal-led outfit is facing a test of its famed Delhi model of development.
The AAP-led government in the city claims international recognition for the Delhi model of development. Kejriwal claims that the AAP-led government in the city has given a new template of governance with education and health at the centre stage.
Maliwal is visiting various areas in the national capital. She is posting short video clips on the social media platforms. Maliwal is showing the ugly side of Delhi filled with filth.
The Rajya Sabha MP interacts with the people in the videos. So far, Maliwal has toured areas such as Bawana to reveal that the people have are dependent on dirty waters.
The AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP seeks to convince the people that the promises made by the AAP before the elections are far from being fulfilled. In Maliwal, the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has found a reliable and potent companion to take on Kejriwal in the Assembly elections.
Maliwal is leading a frontal attack on the Delhi model of development. She is attacking the claims of the AAP-led government on achievements in education and health.
She is visiting hospitals and even schools. Maliwal is spotlighting the lack of basic facilities in schools and hospitals. The AAP is in a quandary over Maliwal. The party cannot expel her, because that will allow her to stay as the Rajya Sabha MP. She can be disqualified only if she defies the whip issued by the party in the Rajya Sabha.
The AAP is seemingly facing an anti-incumbency in the Delhi Assembly elections. The AAP had stormed to power in 2013 in Delhi with an outside support of the Congress.
