Fast-Moving Mercury to Stay Visible till half March

New Delhi, March 8: The planet Mercury is alive and moving with a lot of treasure trove! For half of the month March, Mercury will be visible.
NASA has released clearest picture of the planet Mercury as yet. NASA in a month update said that Mercury will be visible for 30 minutes after the sunset.
The smallest and shrinking planet will be coming underneath the planet Venus, said the NASA in a monthly update. The planet remains active. It is tectonically active planet.
“March has the best opportunity this year for trying to spot fast-moving Mercury if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere,” said the NASA. Notably, Mercury is visible for a few weeks at a time every three to four months in a year.
“This is because the speedy planet orbits the Sun in just 88 days. So, it quickly shifts its position in the sky from day to day. It’s always visible either just after sunset or just before sunrise,” added the American space agency.
On March 7th through 9th, look for Mercury beginning about 30 minutes after sunset in the west, about 10 degrees above the horizon, added the space agency. Indeed, the views should not be blocked by trees, buildings, or other obstructions.

“Observing from a large, open field, or the shore of a lake or the seaside can be helpful. Spying Mercury isn’t always easy, but catching the fleet-footed planet is a worthy goal for any skywatcher,” added the space agency.
Lifeboat in a video discussion with aerospace engineer Mike DiVerde had given accounts of the fast-moving Mercury. He gave descriptions in the backdrop of NASA’s MESSENGER mission to Mercury.
“The spacecraft mapped the solar system’s innermost planet and uncovered extraordinary findings, including evidence of a potential diamond layer deep within Mercury’s core,” said Lifeboat in a report.
It gave details of “Mercury’s mysterious surface features, unique geology, and core composition”. On the MESSENGER, it stated that “this comprehensive exploration combines cutting-edge space technology with planetary science to unravel Mercury’s secrets, from its graphite-rich surface to its intriguing magma ocean past”.
This month, said the NASA, Venus will hang low in the west after sunset early in the month. “After mid-March, it’s difficult to observe Venus in the glow of fading sunlight,” added NASA.
