New Delhi, March 26: The Centre on Wednesday said that the government is acting on the social media complaints against food adulteration. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said in the Lok Sabha that the Centre is acting proactively on social media complaints.

“We are proactively taking action on social media complaints. We take serious considerations of complaints against food adulterations,” Joshi told the Lok Sabha.

The Minister was replying during the Question Hour in the Lok Sabha. The question raised concerns on adulterations in food items. Joshi was asked on steps being taken on complaints of adulterations in food items such as ‘Khoya’, ‘Paneer’, sweets, and other items.

“We have 242 laboratories to test the food samples. We also have four referral laboratories,” said Joshi in his reply. The minister also said that food inspection commissioners are also placed at the levels of states.

“We also have mobile vans which roam around to test the food samples. We are actively working to check food adulterations,” added Joshi.
