New Delhi, November 5, 2025 — Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi made a stunning claim on Wednesday — 22 fake votes were cast in Haryana elections with voter cards issued in the name of a Brazilian model. Gandhi alleged that “25 lakh fake votes in Haryana stole the mandate from the Congress.”

Addressing a press conference, Gandhi in a power-point presentation alleged that 22 fake voter cards were issued in the name of a Brazilian model, and all the votes were cast. “This model had 22 votes with names like Seema, Sweety and Saraswati,” alleged Gandhi.

The Congress leader also asserted that “we have crystal clear proof that 25 lakh voters in Haryana are fake.” “They either don’t exist or they are duplicate or are designed in a way for anybody to vote,” alleged the leader of the Opposition.

Gandhi in the past has made similar allegations on Maharashtra Assembly elections. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had swept the Maharashtra state polls last year with almost 89% strike rate. The BJP also won the Haryana Assembly elections, proving political pundits wrong.

“One in eight voters in Haryana are fake,” claimed Gandhi, adding that 12.5% of the total voters in Haryana are “fake.” He claimed that there had been a massive vote fraud in Haryana.

“There was a plan to turn Congress’ landslide win into a loss,” alleged Gandhi, who also claimed that Haryana Chief Minister “Nayab Saini after the poll results” smiled “with a mention that a system is at play.”

Gandhi released the “H Files (Hydrogen Bomb)” dossier. The Congress leader also accused that there had been “irregularities, including duplicate entries, invalid addresses, and one photo linked to 223 votes.”

Gandhi’s allegations came a day before the first phase of polling in Bihar Assembly elections. “Vote chori is happening at both the state and national levels. We’ve experienced this in many states. So we decided to dig deeper in Haryana,” asserted Gandhi, who added “pollsters had predicted win for the Congress in Haryana Assembly elections last year.”
