PATNA, April 28, 2025 — The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Monday announced a major recruitment drive for 1,024 assistant engineer posts across various state departments, a move that could gain political significance ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
The BPSC notification came amid jobs becoming the central theme of the election campaign by the Opposition parties in Bihar. Kanhaiya Kumar, the Congress leader, recently took out a campaign to press for employments in Bihar.
Former deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav has also been attacking incumbent Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the issue of unemployment in the state. Kumar’s ruling Janata Dal (United) claims to have offered “record jobs” in Bihar through recruitment of teachers in the state.
