Delhi Poll Electioneering Enters Final Phase

New Delhi, January 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will go whole hog to win the Purvanchali voters in Delhi Assembly elections. The saffron outfit has hammered a special strategy to win the influential vote base.
“The BJP will be deploying more than 100 leaders from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to influence the voting decisions of the Purvanchali voters in the national capital,” said a senior BJP functionary.
The BJP is banking heavily on party leaders from Bihar and UP to swing the poll outcome. The National democratic Alliance (NDA) alliance partners are also pitching in with their resources in the national capital to help the BJP.

“The BJP is trying to woo Purvanchalis, as well as Dalits and poor sections,” added the BJP functionary. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gets support from Purvanchalis in the Assembly elections.
Former MP and Assam BJP in-charge Harish Dwivedi has been appointed coordinator of the core team which is working on the Purvanchali strategy. The BJP leaders have hit the ground in the national capital to execute the strategy.
“The party has identified Purvanchal dominated areas and in the area where the people of a particular area are more, the leader of that area will be fielded there,” added the BJP functionary.
The AAP and the Congress are also making every effort to woo Purvanchali voters.
An important meeting of Purvanchal leaders has been held under the chairmanship of BJP’s organization secretary BL Santosh, in which general secretary Tarun Chugh and Harish Dwivedi participated. The finer details of the strategy have been worked out in this meeting.
It was decided on method of communication and issues to be raised by the party with the Purvanchali voters. Issues have been decided through a survey.

“The party will give priority to those issues which are related to public interest. During this time, the Purvanchali leaders will also put forward the welfare schemes of the central government and the behaviour of the AAP,” added the BJP functionary.
Purvanchali voters are said to be insizable numbers in at least two dozen Assembly seats. People with origins from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand live in Delhi in large numbers.
The BJP has brought part leaders from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand for canvassing in the national capital. “The BJP has also decided to field leaders in the election field to woo the voters of other states. BJP plans to do aggressive election campaigning in the last week of the election,” said another senior BJP functionary.
