PATNA, September 20, 2025 — With two months to for the consequential Bihar Assembly elections, the state’s two principal parties have seemingly gone into a ‘Sanjay’ era. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Janata Dal (United) now have common strand that the supreme leaders of the two parties are showing signs of one ‘Sanjay’ pulling strings.

Rohini Acharya, elder sister of Mahagathbandhan’s CM face Tejashwi Yadav, is furious at the scope of influence that San jay Yadav commands in the RJD. Prabhat Khabar in a report stated that Acharya returned to Singapore after she was asked to not comment on Sanjay Yadav by his father and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.

The episode unraveled over social media posts by Acharya. She first shared a Facebook post by a RJD functionary who objected to Sanjay Yadav occupying the front seat in the vehicle of Tejashwi Yadav during his ongoing yatra. The post stated that the seat is for the supreme leader of the RJD, “which cannot be occupied by anyone else.” Acharya shared the post. This sent the grapevine sizzling with speculations of a house in disorder for the Lalu clan.

It has emerged that a furious Tejashwi called his father to gag Acharya. Lalu Yadav counselled Acharya to not get into such activities when elections are approaching per reports. The RJD insiders claim that Tej Pratap Yadav also had fallen out with his brother because of Sanjay Yadav.

Incidentally, Sanjay Yadav, who hails from Haryana, is a childhood friend of Tejashwi. He is now a Rajya Sabha MP also.

The JD (U) also is in a spate of squabbling within the party over the extra size stature of the Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha. A close confidante of incumbent Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Jha is calling shots in the scrutiny of candidates for the upcoming state polls. His proximity with the top BJP brass is also a talk of the town in Patna.

With Kumar mostly relying on his trusted bureaucrats for running the affairs of the administration, Jha is learnt to be micro-managing the JD (U). He has also emerged a key player in the negotiations within the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for seat adjustments for the approaching polls.
