Accreditation body flags “misleading” claims on website as Al-Falah University’s college accreditations lapse; seeks explanation within seven days.

By TRH News Desk

New Delhi, November 13, 2025 — The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has issued a show cause notice to Al-Falah University, Faridabad, Haryana, for allegedly displaying expired accreditation details on its website and misleading students and stakeholders about its status.

In the letter dated 12 November 2025, NAAC Director Prof. Ganesh Kannabiran informed the university that two of its constituent colleges — Al-Falah School of Engineering and Technology and the Department of Teacher Education, Al-Falah School of Education and Training — had their accreditation cycles expired years ago.

According to the notice:

  • The School of Engineering and Technology was accredited from March 23, 2013, to March 22, 2018, with a Grade ‘A’ (CGPA 3.08).
  • The Department of Teacher Education was accredited from March 27, 2011, to March 26, 2016, with a Grade ‘A’ (CGPA 3.16).

NAAC observed that both institutions had not volunteered for the Cycle-2 Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) and that the university had publicly displayed claims suggesting continued accreditation — a move the council called “false, wrong, and misleading”.

The notice questions why NAAC should not recommend disqualification of the university from future accreditation and why it should not advise regulatory bodies such as UGC, AICTE, NCTE, NMC, and the Government of Haryana to initiate action against Al-Falah University.

“You are required to remove the NAAC accreditation details from your website and any other publicly available / distributed documents and report back to NAAC that the above is complied with,” the letter stated.

The university has been given seven days from receipt of the notice to respond. Copies of the notice have also been sent to the University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman and Secretary in New Delhi for further review.

  1. In India , we alwsys see the concerned authorities wake up only if something untoward incident is happened.
It’s a routine case of buildings are bulldozed on the pretext of either illegal or encroachment on govt. land , cleaverly bypassing the fact that without nexus between builders & local officials no unauthorized construction is possible.
In current case also ,NAAC Director Prof. Ganesh Kannabiran’s notice to Al Falah University shows the same attitude. Why & how it remain
unchecked so long ? It also clearly shows lack of sincerity & unsouciant attitude of the NAAC.
