By Manish Anand

New Delhi, November 21: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday released the party’s first list of candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections. After the meeting of the political affairs committee, the AAP released the list of 11 candidates.

The AAP with the first list has sent out the message that the party is now banking on the talent pool of the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to win the next year’s elections. The Delhi Assembly elections will most likely be held in February next year.

The AAP’s first list of candidates includes three former BJP leaders – Anil Jha, Brahma Singh Tanwar, and BB Tyagi. The AAP’s first list of candidates for the Assembly elections also includes three former Congress leaders — Ram Singh Netaji, Zubair Chaudhary (son of five-time Seelampur MLA Mateen Ahmed), and Veer Singh Dhingan.

Six of the 11 candidates in the first list of the AAP have their past spent in the BJP and the Congress. The BJP also is on a poaching spree of the AAP leaders.

The Delhi unit of the BJP this week inducted key AAP leader and former minister in the city government Kailash Gehlot. The AAP also scored the level by inducting BJP’s Anil Jha.

The AAP’s first list of the candidates also includes Deepak Singhla, Sarita Singh, Gaurav Sharma, Manoj Tyagi, and Somesh Shaukeen. These five candidates have the pedigree of the AAP.

Chaudhary will contest from Seelampur Assembly seat. The AAP by naming six turncoats has also given signal that the party will further poach the talent pool of the Congress and the BJP.

The AAP’s first list of candidates for the Assembly elections in Delhi is in tune with caste politics in the national capital. The candidates have been picked as per the caste profiles of the Assembly constituencies.
