Epstein Files hearing in the Congress turns explosive as Pam Bondi berates members for grilling her

New Delhi, February 12, 2026 — US Attorney General Pam Bondi accused Congressman Thomas Massie of suffering from “Trump derangement syndrome.” She also told Massie: you’re a failed politician.

In the Congressional hearing over the release of Epstein files, Bondi staged counterattacks on members who sought to grill her over the manner in which the Justice Department released the documents.

Pramila Jayapal, another Congresswoman, asked Bondi to face the Epstein victims present in the chamber. “Will you turn to the survivors, and apologise for the manner in which your department released the Epstein Files,” asked Jayapal.

In response, Bondi claimed that Jayapal was revealing “gutter of politics.” Bondi shouted at Jayapal. The Epstein survivors stood in the chamber and raised hands in response to Jayapal asking if they were dissatisfied with the Justice Department.

Bondi in other instances responded to the grilling, saying “Dow Jones is now over 50,000.” The US stock index has gone past 50,000 mark this week.

Massie and Ro Khanna had been instrumental in the passing of the Epstein Files release law in the US. But Bondi called Massie a “failed politician.” Bondi is facing flaks in the US over redacting several of the files and blackening names of influential people who were exchanging e-mails with Epstein. In one case, a redacted e-mail revealed that a person claimed that he had killed a child at the Epstein resort.

Bondi clashed with members from Democrats and Republicans in the Epstein Files hearing. Political observers in the US stated that a section of Republicans is miffed and anguished at the manner in which Bondi allegedly gave priority to her loyalty to Trump in “covering up the Epstein Files issue.”
