At Bhamashah Jayanti, UP CM Calls for Trader Empowerment, Social Harmony, and Environmental Stewardship

By TRH News Desk

LUCKNOW, June 28, 2025 – Uttar Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp critique of caste-based politics and invoked the legacy of legendary philanthropist Bhamashah to call for unity, national service, and social cohesion. Speaking at a grand event at Lok Bhawan on the eve of Bhamashah Jayanti and Vyapari Kalyan Diwas, the Chief Minister declared, “Batoge toh katoge, ek rahoge toh nek rahoge” (If you divide, you’ll fall; if you unite, you’ll rise), urging society to reject divisive politics.

The Chief Minister accused certain political forces of stoking caste divisions for political survival, saying, “Those who once bowed before mafia and sold jobs are now sowing caste hatred.” He emphasized that only a united society can move forward with dignity and purpose.

Adityanath’s slogan ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections – Batoge toh katoge – had become a trendsetter. Prime minister Narendra Modi had improvised the slogan with refinement. He had given the slogan of “ek hai to safe hai.”

The event paid homage to Bhamashah, the 16th-century Rajput minister and patriot, whose financial support enabled Maharana Pratap to continue his resistance against Mughal rule. Adityanath hailed Bhamashah as an enduring symbol of sacrifice and nationalism, saying, “Every time we remember Maharana Pratap, we will also remember Bhamashah.”

He drew parallels with other historical figures, including the rulers of Khetri, Baroda, and Mysore, who supported Swami Vivekananda and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He cited these examples to underscore how acts of generosity and vision, irrespective of caste, shaped India’s intellectual and spiritual destiny.

“Where was caste in these noble acts?” the CM asked. “These leaders rose above narrow identities to serve the nation. That is the spirit we need today,” he added.

The Chief Minister asserted that the state government’s commitment to the safety, respect, and prosperity of traders. Referring to past incidents of crime against businessmen during previous regimes, he asserted that today, under his leadership, law and order has been restored. “We have made it clear—whoever threatens our traders or women, Yamraj will cut their ticket,” he warned.

He contrasted the present “One District One Product (ODOP)” success with the previous era’s “One District One Mafia”, and reiterated the double-engine government’s resolve to ensure economic growth, security, and dignity for all.
