Priyanka Chopra Jonas says producing her own films was the key to breaking through industry barriers. The global star also shared why she chose Orlando Bloom for her upcoming film “Reset” and why the project is so special to her.

Mumbai, June 24, 2026 — Actor-producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas has opened up about taking control of her career through film production, saying she turned to producing her own projects after encountering limitations in the kinds of roles available to women and Indian actors in the entertainment industry.

Speaking about her upcoming film “Reset,” in which she stars alongside Orlando Bloom, Chopra Jonas said producing has allowed her to tell stories on her own terms and assemble the creative teams she believes are best suited for a project.

Reflecting on her journey, Chopra Jonas said she found herself pursuing production because many studios did not envision Indian actors in certain leading roles. “I started producing my own movies,” she said, adding that she had heard similar experiences from many female colleagues in the industry.

“When you want to move along and there’s a glass ceiling that has been set for most women in entertainment, you just have to do it yourself,” she said. “That was very inspiring to me, and I just started doing it myself.”

The global star described “Reset” as one of her most exciting recent projects. Chopra Jonas revealed that she and Bloom had been looking for an opportunity to collaborate for years, having previously worked together through UNICEF initiatives.

“We wanted to work together for a long time,” she said. When the project came her way, she immediately felt Bloom was the right choice for the role.

Beyond casting, Chopra Jonas emphasized the creative influence producers can have in shaping a film. She said producing enables her to partner with the right talent and build teams that contribute to every aspect of filmmaking.

“The film is not just one or two people,” she said. “The movie is 150 people that have to come together in tandem.”

According to Chopra Jonas, the magic of cinema lies in the collaboration that takes place between the director’s call of “action” and “cut,” when every department works in harmony to bring a scene to life.

“I love my job,” she said, adding that being a producer makes her feel deeply involved in nearly every department of the filmmaking process.

“Reset” is expected to attract significant attention from global audiences, not only because of its star-studded cast but also because it marks the long-awaited on-screen collaboration between Chopra Jonas and Bloom.
