The AISA chief was attacked while addressing reporters in Ranchi after demanding cancellation of allegedly compromised competitive examinations. Following the incident, Bora declared that the ink would become “the ink with which we will write the future,” as protests over alleged JPSC paper leaks continued.
Ranchi, August 7, 2026 — AISA chief Neha Bora on Friday faced an ink attack in Ranchi. She was speaking to reporters when an unidentified youth attacked her with ink. Bora later said that she wouldn’t be intimidated.
On a day when Bora reached Ranchi to throw her weight with the agitating students, she faced the ink attack. Before the incident, she had served the ultimatum on Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to cancel the competitive examinations following alleged paper leaks.
Bora had also threatened that if the demands of the agitating students aren’t met, the call for the resignation of Soren will be raised. Jharkhand government has invited agitating students for talks.
“Batons were swung, tear gas was fired, pellets were shot. Now ink has been thrown. History bears witness – those who lose to the pen are the ones who hurl ink,” AISA said in a post on X.
Bora posted a series of comments on the ink attack on X. “When your batons, tear gas, and pellet guns couldn’t break our resolve, what can this ink do,” she asserted.
“We will write the future of the coming nation with this very ink! We will shatter every attempt to stop us,” Bora further asserted.
The AISA chief alleged that “RSS-BJP goons throw ink at me and around 20 other women in Ranchi, Jharkhand. For them ink is a tool to try to shame others, we will write the future with ink.”
Bora has begun a nationwide tour to raise issues concerning education. Ranchi was her first stop. On Thursday, Bora had released a reel to share details of her tour programme.
Students in Ranchi have been agitating for days against the alleged paper leaks in examinations conducted by Jharkhand Public Service Commission. Student activist Devendra Nath Mahto led the protests with a hunger strike.
Jharkhand has been mired in paper leaks controversies for years. The JPSC had faced intense students’ protests last year also. The state chief minister has assured that the government would look into the grievances of the students.
