European outlets described “Graham’s behaviour disturbing, shocking, and extremely inappropriate”

New Delhi, February 18, 2026 — Senator Lindsey Graham has built a reputation as US President Donald Trump’s most vocal supporter. In Munich, on the sidelines of Security Conference, reports claimed that Graham erupted as he berated Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. Greenland set the backdrop to Graham launching attacks on European leaders.

Reports in European media outlets claimed that the meeting on Saturday afternoon at the Bayerischer Hof hotel in Munich turned into heated exchanges between the American leaders and European heads of the states. Several Senators and members of Congress were present in the meeting per reports.

Frederiksen and Greenland’s Premier Jens-Frederik Nielsen were also present in the meeting. Reports said that Graham erupted in the meeting. The American outlet Puck claimed in its report that “f-bombs” were hurled at the European leaders. “Imagine Graham on his worst day,” a source told Puck.

Other outlets from Europe claimed that Graham went ballistic against Frederiksen and Nielsen. “He called her (Frederiksen) ‘little lady,’” a source who was in the room told Berlingske. The report added that Frederiksen was not affected by “what everyone present perceived as extremely degrading and outright sexist” attacks by Graham.

Graham berated the two European leaders, saying “Donald Trump was the President of the United States — and thus the most powerful man in the world.” Trump at Davos had scaled down his rhetoric on forcibly acquiring Greenland. Graham is among the key aides of Trump who are most vocal in supporting the cause of a Trumpian world order.

European outlets claimed that those who were present in the meeting found “Graham’s behaviour disturbing, shocking, and extremely inappropriate.”

Berlingske reported an almost theatrical scene. “Graham yawned directly in Nielsen’s face in a way that could only be interpreted as mocking,” reported the outlet. It added that “Senator Elissa Slotkin (Democrat) was so shocked that she stood up and left the meeting.”

Graham is a South Carolina Senator. He has also been highly vitriolic against India over Russian oil.
